I've been stewing on this review for at least a week - somewhere between stars. The topic is excellent.

As a family physician, I'm always on the look out for great books that explain medical topics well to children. I loved the language and technical approach to discussing the digestive system in a children's book. It kept my daughter almost 8 engaged and excited. However, the writing was somewhat forced and I found the use of the apple icons and other reading "helpers" very distracting I've been stewing on this review for at least a week - somewhere between stars. However, the writing was somewhat forced and I found the use of the apple icons and other reading "helpers" very distracting and not in keeping with the overall theme and focus of the book.

Interestingly, my daughter who always wants to finish every last page of a book and re-read books, has NOT asked to re-read this book and did not want to read anything beyond the initial story which surprised me I did talk her into listening to some of the jokes, but not all of them made sense even to her father and I Great topic, decent execution.

I like the children in the WOW!! My kids laughed and asked questions for more information. The pictures, descriptions, and action kept the kids engaged. The addition of a glossary and jokes at the end were informative and fun. I like learning about our body. I laughed at some of the funny stuff. I even got to read about farts! I liked the jokes at the end.

Jul 05, De Jr. I love the way she draws you in at the start with questions as well as the answers as each question presents itself…. The Cover truly grabs you. A Must Have!!! Jul 28, Ruth Hill rated it it was amazing. What an absolutely delightful book for kids! My daughter did not get a chance to read this yet, but I know she would love it. It is great to have a book that uses correct scientific terms when discussing the human body--there were some terms I did not even know.

I appreciated the illustrations and the interactions between the characters.

This was almost reminiscent of a younger version of "The Magic School Bus. This will entertain children for years to come. I can highly recommend this book to everyone with children, and I think it would be appropriate for school as well. Be sure to check it out! Jan 01, Heather rated it it was amazing. Before I read it, I gave this book to my 8-year-old daughter to read. She was very interested from the get-go, when I gave her the book and she looked at the cover.

It probably helps that she often says she wants to be a detective. She summed up her opinion in two quick sentences: "I liked it.

Plus, she agreed to read the other two books very eagerly. When it was my turn to read it, it was easy to see why she found it funny: talk about farts and poop. Making it fun in the process. Would love to win these for my nieces and nephew. I would love to have this book for my grandson when he comes to visit. This book would be a wonderful addition to my classroom library. I could also use this book in my presentations during the library Science Explosion. These would definitely be great books to add to our library…books that are fun and educational are like a bonus.

What a great way to make learning about health and the body interesting.
